CESCO CEO Speaks at Saudi Agriculture 2025 on the Future of Grain Logistics

Dr. Martino Celeghini, CEO of CESCO EPC, joined industry leaders at the Future of Agriculture International Conference during SAUDI AGRICULTURE 2025 in Riyadh on October 23, 2025.

The panel discussion, “The Future of Mills and Feeding: Stepping into the Next Generation of Livestock Production,” brought together experts to address critical challenges in feed manufacturing and grain logistics.

Dr. Celeghini focused on three key areas:
1️⃣ Food Security in Uncertain Times
“Food security is no longer a theoretical discussion. It has become a national imperative,” he explained. Modern storage plants now protect national reserves, absorb market shocks, and ensure supply continuity during crises. Countries like Egypt, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia are building long-term resilience through strategic storage programs.

2️⃣ Innovation in Plant Design
CESCO designs what Dr. Celeghini calls “unstoppable plants” with smart layouts that minimize transfer points and reduce equipment wear. Modern terminals can store up to 500,000 tons and handle 1,500 tons per hour, with automation systems that monitor temperature, moisture, and filling levels in real time.

3️⃣ The Future of Logistics
“The next generation of grain terminals will connect ports, railways, and inland storage sites to move grain more efficiently while reducing carbon footprint,” Dr. Celeghini noted. He shared examples of multimodal projects in Azerbaijan and Italy that demonstrate this approach.

He also highlighted how existing facilities can be upgraded using 3D laser scanning and digital modeling, extending their life and improving performance without full replacement.

Thank you to the organizers of SAUDI AGRICULTURE 2025 and our fellow panelists for an excellent discussion on advancing grain logistics and food security.
