1.100 Tonnes in the Making: Vicenza´s New Storage Infrastructure Is Being Built

When we announced the Valman project earlier this year, the challenge was already clear: expand a live production facility in Vicenza without disrupting the existing cereal processing line. That is what brownfield engineering requires, not just design, but sequencing.

We are now into the erection phase.

The 16 square process bins are being installed within the footprint of Valman’s existing plant. The rectangular geometry, chosen specifically to maximise storage density without extending the building envelope, is now demonstrating exactly why that decision was made at the design stage.

What is going up on site:
☑️ Steel structure for 16 square process bins: engineered to fit within the constraints of an operating facility

☑️ Chain conveyor network being integrated with the existing material flow

☑️ Dosing screw conveyors positioned for automated, batch-accurate feeding into the homogenization line

☑️ Ventilation duct routing and temperature monitoring point installation underway

The precision required here is different from a greenfield build. Every structural element has to arrive on site ready to slot into a layout that is still in production.

The result, when complete: 1.100 tonnes of additional cereal storage capacity, fully integrated into Valman’s existing dosing and homogenization plant.
